About the book

Who Is Like God is a Christian allegorical fantasy novel about fear and faith, control and freedom—and the transforming power of Agape.

Mira lives in Bergvalla, a world where ancient secrets lie hidden behind walls and where questions are not always welcomed. As she begins to search for the truth, she is drawn deeper and deeper into a story in which what she once believed to be certain begins to change.

Along the way, she encounters people who are searching, people who are afraid, and people who are convinced that they already have the answers. She faces choices where it is not always easy to distinguish faith from fear, truth from tradition, or love from control.

Yet through it all, something keeps returning—Agape. A love that does not force, does not frighten, and does not seek power, but step by step transforms a person from within.

Who Is Like God is the first book in a trilogy and the beginning of a greater journey through questions about God, humanity, faith, and love.

And behind it all, one question echoes:

Who Is Like God?

This trilogy did not begin with a finished story. It began with questions. My own questions.

Throughout my life, I have carried questions about God, faith, fear, love, and the human search for truth. I have gone through periods of conviction, but also doubt, conflict, and crisis that have caused me to stop and ask: What is actually true? How do I see God—and why?

From these questions, the story began to grow.

The characters you meet are fictional, but many of their inner struggles are not unfamiliar to me. They carry different parts of my own reflections, weaknesses, questions, and experiences. No single character is me, but there is something of myself in several of them.

When they search, doubt, become afraid, hold on, fail, or dare to reconsider what they have always believed, traces of my own journey can be found there.

The trilogy therefore became a way of giving form to questions that can sometimes be difficult to capture in a conventional theological text. In fantasy, the questions could be given faces. Fear could become walls. Faith could become a path. And Agape could reveal itself through people’s choices and actions.

I am not writing this trilogy to claim that I have all the answers. Instead, I want to invite the reader to come along—to think, feel, question, explore, and perhaps discover their own questions along the way.

This is a fantasy story. But the questions behind it are real.

And Who Is Like God is only the beginning.

Who Is Like God is the beginning of a greater story. Across three books, the journey continues, but the perspective shifts and the questions grow deeper.

Each book opens the door to new people, new places, and new conflicts. At the same time, a common thread runs through the entire trilogy:

How is our image of God shaped—and what happens when that image encounters Agape?

The story moves through faith and doubt, fear and control, tradition and interpretation, division and community. The characters are confronted with what they have been taught, what they themselves believe, and what they discover when their convictions are put to the test.

But the trilogy is not only about ideas and theology. It is also a story about people—about friendship, betrayal, courage, forgiveness, longing, and the choices that shape us.

The questions grow larger with each book.

Book I – Who Is Like God
A story about fear, faith, and the transforming power of Agape.

Book II – God’s Strength
The story continues as the questions deepen around faith, interpretation, and humanity’s attempts to understand and shape the Word of God.

Book III – God With Us
The journey reaches its conclusion as our ideas about God are brought to a breaking point—and the question becomes what remains when our own images must give way.

Three books. Three parts of the same journey.

Who Is Like God is the beginning.

Who Is Like God is not a story in which everything lies openly on the surface. At times, it may feel difficult to interpret—and that is also part of the intention behind the story.

So do not try to understand every event or symbol immediately. Read slowly. Allow the story to remain with you for a while. What first seems strange or unclear may take on a different meaning later. You could say that the reader needs to tune in to the wavelength of the story.

Behind the places, the people, the encounters, and the conflicts, there are other layers. A road may be more than a road. A wall may mean more than what can be seen. A person’s struggle may reflect something that also exists within us.

That is why I do not want to tell you exactly how everything should be interpreted.

Instead, I want to encourage you to read with your inner light—with reflection, conscience, experience, and the questions the story awakens within you.

From time to time, stop and ask:

What do I see here? Why does this affect me? What do I recognize? Is there something behind the obvious that the story is trying to show me?

Two people may therefore read the same chapter and discover different things. That does not necessarily mean that either of them has read it incorrectly. The story is meant to open a space for reflection, not close it with ready-made answers.

Do not read only to find out what happens.

Read also to discover what the story awakens within you.

That is where Who Is Like God truly begins to speak.
