The armor of the light

armor of light
Lyrics

Verse 1

Time is drawing to its end,

The darkened hours are fading.

We can now see the breaking dawn,

Now it’s time for us to rise.

Chorus

Now it’s time to live upright

Living for our God

Yes, for our God

The armor of the light belongs to us

That is what we wear

Living in holiness and truth

While we are waiting for God’s day

Our song of victory

Our song of victory

Verse 2

Signs of times are telling us

Jesus soon is coming

All confirmed through spoken words

Prophets gave to everyone

Chorus

Let us therefore now live right

Living for our God

Yes, for our God

The armor of the light belongs to us

That is what we wear

Living in holiness and truth

While we are waiting for God’s day

Our song of victory

Our song of victory

Time Is Coming is a song inspired by the Bible’s call to wake up spiritually and live in the light of Christ. The Scriptures remind us that every passing day brings us closer to the fulfillment of God’s promises. As the night gives way to dawn, we are invited to leave behind the darkness and walk in the light of Jesus.

The song is rooted in Romans 13, where Paul urges believers to ”put on the armor of light.” This armor is not made of steel but of a life shaped by holiness, truth, faith, and love. It is the life of those who choose to follow Christ every day.

The references to the signs of the times are not meant to create fear or endless speculation. Instead, they remind us that Jesus keeps His promises. The words spoken by the prophets point us to the hope of His return and encourage us to remain faithful until that day.

Rather than asking us to predict the future, the song asks a more important question: How should we live today? The answer is simple—live upright, stay close to God, wear the armor of light, and let your life become a testimony of His grace.

As we wait for Christ’s return, our hearts are already learning the song we will one day sing together—the eternal song of victory before our King.

Scripture:

”And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
Romans 13:11–12

One day, Jesus will return. For many people, this thought raises questions about signs, dates, and world events. But the Bible places the emphasis somewhere else. Instead of asking us to predict when Christ will come, it asks us to consider how we are living while we wait.

Paul describes the present world as a night that is coming to an end. Dawn is approaching. Because of this, believers are called to wake up spiritually, leave the works of darkness behind, and put on the armor of light.

What is the armor of light?

It is a life shaped by Jesus Christ. It is choosing truth instead of deception, forgiveness instead of bitterness, purity instead of compromise, humility instead of pride, and love instead of selfishness. Every day we choose to follow Christ, we are putting on this armor.

The signs of the times should not fill us with fear. They should remind us that God’s promises are trustworthy. Jesus is faithful, and His return is certain. Until that day, our calling remains the same—to walk closely with Him and reflect His character to the world.

The greatest preparation for Christ’s return is not knowing every prophecy in detail. It is knowing Christ Himself.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Am I spiritually awake, or have I become comfortable and distracted?
  • Is there anything in my life that belongs to the darkness rather than the light?
  • What does it mean for me today to ”put on the armor of light”?
  • How can I reflect the character of Jesus to the people around me?

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for the hope of Your return. Help me to stay awake spiritually and to live each day in the light of Your presence. Teach me to put on the armor of light by walking in truth, holiness, humility, and love. May my life point others to You as I wait with joy for the day when You come again. Amen.
