You are my god

you are my god
Lyrics

Verse 1
I have seen You in the sanctuary
And beheld Your power and glory.
Because Your love
Is better than life,
I will praise You
As long as I live.

Chorus
Oh God, You are my God,
You are more than enough.
But all I have,
But all I have,
I give it to You.
I give my life to You, my Lord.

Verse 2
Yet in the stillness
Of the morning dawn,
I will call
And wait for Your voice.
You have been my shelter and song.
In Your name
Forever rejoice.

Chorus
Oh God, You are my God,
You are more than enough.
But all I have,
But all I have,
I give to You.
I give my life to You, my Lord.

Bridge
Here I stand for You
With a heart set on fire.
Your shining light
Before my eyes.
Every any shattering light,
Ever he turns in his might.

Chorus
Oh God, You are my God,
You are more than enough.
But all I have,
But all I have,
I give it to You.
I give my life to You, my Lord.

Outro
We are waiting
For the trumpet sound,
For the skies to open with light.
Every knee will bow to the ground
When the King returns in His mind.

You Are My God: was born out of the words of Psalm 63—a prayer written by David in the wilderness. Far from comfort and surrounded by uncertainty, David discovered that God’s presence was more valuable than life itself.

This song echoes that same longing. It is the confession of a heart that has learned that no earthly success, possession, or achievement can satisfy the deepest needs of the soul. God alone is enough.

Each verse reflects a journey of worship: remembering God’s glory, waiting quietly for His voice at dawn, surrendering everything into His hands, and finally looking ahead with hope to the day when Christ returns and every knee bows before the King.

”More Than Enough” is both a personal prayer and an invitation—to place our lives in God’s hands and to discover that His faithful love truly is better than life.

Key Scripture: Psalm 63:1–8

David wrote Psalm 63 while he was in the wilderness of Judah. He was far from the sanctuary, surrounded by uncertainty, yet his deepest longing was not for safety or comfort—it was for God Himself.

”Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You.”
(Psalm 63:3)

The song ”More Than Enough” is inspired by this beautiful confession. It reminds us that faith is not built on circumstances but on the character of God. David had lost much, but he had not lost the One who mattered most.

The words ”You are more than enough” invite us to ask a simple but searching question:

What is enough for me?

The world tells us that we need more—more success, more possessions, more recognition. Yet Scripture points us to a different treasure. In Jesus Christ we have forgiveness, hope, peace, and eternal life. When He becomes our greatest desire, we discover that nothing in this world can truly satisfy the soul as He does.

The song also speaks of waiting in the stillness of the morning. Throughout Scripture we find people who sought God early, listening for His voice before facing the challenges of the day. Worship begins not with noise but with a heart that is willing to listen.

Finally, the song lifts our eyes toward the blessed hope—the return of Jesus Christ. One day the trumpet will sound, the heavens will open, and every knee will bow before the King. Until that day, our calling is to live lives of worship, surrender, and faithful expectation.

Reflection Questions

  • Is God my greatest desire, or have other things taken His place?
  • What does it mean for me to say, ”You are more than enough”?
  • How can I begin each day by seeking God’s presence?
  • In what ways does the hope of Christ’s return shape the way I live today?

Prayer

Jesus, You are my greatest treasure. Teach me to seek You above everything else. Let my life become an offering of worship, and help me to trust that Your love is truly better than life itself. Keep my heart faithful as I wait for the day when You return in glory. Amen.
